Plasma donation begins in Jamshedpur Blood Bank

Two Covid-cured Tata Steel employees donate plasma

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Blood Bank, with the active help of Tata Main Hospital, today started the process of convalescent plasma donation.

Maneshwar Nayak and Jaiprakash, both of whom are Tata Steel employees, donated their plasma today.

The president of Jamshedpur Blood Bank, Mrs. Ruchi Narendran, thanked the plasma donors for this noble contribution.

Those who were present on the occasion included Air Chief Marshal (Retired) Dr. Rajan Choudhary, Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Dr Sudhir Roy, General Manager of TMH, Bailey Bodhanwala, Nalini Rammurti, Ravin Duggal, Vijay Kumar Singh and members of VBDA.

Those who have been cured of Corona infection can donate their plasma 28 days after their being cured. Only those who are of 18 to 60 years of age and do not have any other disease and are not on medication can donate their plasma.

Ay person can donate plasma twice in a month and donating 500 ml of plasma is completely safe.

Plasma therapy has had very positive results all over the world and it is a recommended process for the seriously ill persons.

Recently, the facility of plasma therapy has been started at RIMS.

It is expected that Jamshedpur too will get Plasma Therapy facilities very soon.
