In a decisive move against illegal sand mining, the NGT team’s raid in Seraikela Kharsawan district confiscates 7000 cft of sand.
SERAIKELA – An early morning operation led by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) team at Gauri Ghat in the Seraikela Kharsawan district resulted in a significant crackdown on illegal sand mining activities.
Despite the successful seizure of a large quantity of illegally stored sand, authorities were unable to make any arrests at the scene.
The raid, which included high-ranking officials like the District Mining Officer, Chandil SDO Shubhra Rani, and other law enforcement officers, marks a substantial effort to combat environmental violations.
The action has notably disrupted the operations of the local sand mafia, which is known to exploit riverine resources under the cover of darkness, utilizing local labor for mining and transportation.
This latest operation by the NGT and local authorities underscores a growing crackdown on illegal mining practices, aiming to preserve natural resources and uphold environmental laws.
