Admn team inspects stock of cracker shops in Jugsalai, one shop sealed

Jamshedpur: The district administration today carried out a massive inspection and stock checking of crackers in shops dealing in fire-crackers. One shop was also sealed for keeping excess stock in the shop.

A team of district administration led by the Dhalbhum SDO Nitish Kumar and Dy SP (Law and Order) Alok Ranjan accompanied with Jugsalai officer in charge Nityanand Mahato today made a surprise check of cracker shops.

The arrival of the inspection team caused a scamper among the shopkeepers and some started running heater-skelter.

Later, the inspection team checked the license of all the shops. The team also matched the stock with the quantity mentioned in the license issued to them. Godowns of different shopkeepers were also checked.

The team found crackers in excess quantity in one of the shop. The SDO, in a prompt action, sealed that shop. The inspection team checked almost all the cracker shops at Station Road, Jugsalai area.

Dhalbhum SDO Nitish Singh said that selling and stocking of crackers in a residential area is strictly prohibited. He said that more checks would be made to ensure absolute safety of the residential areas.
