Administration focus on strengthening health infrastructure in district

Jamshedpur: The Deputy Commissioner of Jamshedpur Suraj Kumar today held a meeting with the representatives of different hospitals and corporate organisations of the district. The DC asked the hospitals and the corporate organisations to create at least one 100-bed Covid Care Centre in their respective areas.

The district administration has been trying to strengthen the health infrastructure in teh district to ensure that all the Corona-infected persons could get the required health care support.

After the meeting, the DC said that the district administration is trying to augment the health facilities in the district.

He said that Medica Hospital, which has shut down recently, would be taken over by Tata Main Hospital and Tata Steel and that would be turned into a Covid hospital. The proposed hospital would also have facilities like ventilators.

He expressed hope that the proposed hospital will start functioning by August 25, 2020.

He also said that he has instructed the officials of different small and big corporate organisation operating in the district to create a 100-bed Covid Care Centres in their respective areas, so that the people of those areas could be treated there if found positive.
