Organizers Vow Steady Blood Supply for City Through Summer

Key Points:

  • Arpan Parivar to host 11th mega blood camp on June 28 in Jamshedpur
  • Camp at Dhatkidih blood bank to run from 8 am to 6 pm
  • Preparatory meeting held to finalize volunteer duties and outreach

JAMSHEDPUR – The Arpan Parivar is preparing to organize its 11th mega blood donation camp on June 28 at the blood bank in Bistupur.

Blood banks in the city often face shortages during the summer months. Fewer people tend to come forward to donate blood when temperatures rise. The shortage can delay treatment for patients who need transfusions urgently.

To tackle this seasonal problem, the Arpan Parivar will hold the camp at the Dhatkidih-based blood donation centre on June 28, a Sunday. The drive will run from 8 am to 6 pm.

A preparatory meeting was held at the Dhatkidih blood bank ahead of the event. Volunteers and members discussed donor registration procedures during the meeting.

They also reviewed publicity efforts and logistical arrangements. Members further deliberated on ways to ensure maximum participation from donors across the city.

All those present at the meeting pledged to make the camp a historic and successful initiative. Amarpreet Singh Kale, patron of the Arpan Parivar, addressed the gathering during the session.

He said blood donation is among the greatest forms of service to humanity. A single unit of blood, he said, can give new life to several people.

He added that the Arpan Parivar is committed to ensuring city residents do not face a blood shortage during the summer season. All members, he said, will work toward motivating more people to donate blood.

Kale appealed to residents to visit the Jamshedpur blood bank between 8 am and 6 pm on June 28 to donate voluntarily. He said a single unit of blood can become the biggest hope for a needy patient’s life.

Sanjay Chaudhary, head of the Jamshedpur Blood Bank, also spoke at the meeting. He said demand for blood remains constant during summer even as the number of donors tends to decline.

He said organizations like the Arpan Parivar play a crucial role in society by organizing such mega camps. Chaudhary praised the service work carried out by the Arpan Parivar over the years.

“Arpan’s blood donation campaign sets an exemplary example of service to humanity,” he said. Meanwhile, the city has seen several blood donation drives in recent weeks, including a camp held at Milani Hall earlier this month.

The Tata Main Hospital has also continued to expand patient services in the city. It recently launched a round-the-clock helpline service for patients.

Jugun Pandey conducted the proceedings of the meeting. Jeevan Singhdeo presented the vote of thanks at the end of the session.

Several members of the Arpan Parivar attended the meeting, including Akhilesh Pandey, Bunty Singh, Bibhash Majumdar, Prince Singh and Ghanshyam Bhirbharia. Other attendees included Suman Kumar, Ranjeet Kumar, Deepak Singh, Suraj Bag and Kaushik Prasad.

Santosh Yadav, Sarabjeet Singh Tobi, Manoj Mukhi, Sagar Mukhi and Kola Mukhi were also present. The list further included Suraj Pal, Vivek Kamat, Vikas Gupta, Kamlesh Pathak and Devashish Jha.

Karthik Jumani, Manoj Haldar, Vicky Tarwe, Mohan Das and Manu Dhoke attended as well. Rama Rao, Raju Kumar, Suraj Sah, Bhola Das and Kashinath Pradhan were present too.

Akash Gope, Akash Murti and Saurav Rajak also participated in the meeting. All members present reaffirmed their resolve to make the camp a success.
