JAMSHEDPUR – Former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren was admitted to Tata Main Hospital after experiencing certain health complications.
His family members got him admitted late last night. Doctors attending to him have said there is no cause for concern.
Champai Soren currently serves as a prominent tribal leader from the Kolhan region. He had earlier served as the chief minister of Jharkhand for a brief period before the 2024 assembly elections.
The Tata Main Hospital, commonly known as TMH, is one of the largest private hospitals in eastern India. TMH has recently expanded several patient-support facilities. Meanwhile, the hospital continues to serve as a major medical referral point for Kolhan and surrounding districts.
Doctors monitoring Champai Soren’s condition have reportedly described his vitals as stable. He is said to be responding well to treatment since being admitted.
Champai Soren himself shared an update regarding his health. He said he is feeling much better now.
He further said he would return among his supporters soon, fully recovered. Champai Soren’s health update drew attention from political circles in the state.
Former chief minister Raghubar Das reportedly inquired about his condition. However, no official statement on his prognosis or expected discharge date has been issued.
Champai Soren had remained politically active in recent weeks. He had earlier visited the families of lightning strike victims in Seraikela.
Besides that, he had also held a meeting concerning an anti-encroachment drive on Tata-Kandra Road. He has also previously raised concerns about hospital infrastructure in the state, including remarks that a hospital is ready but not yet operational.
On the other hand, Tata Main Hospital has continued to host major medical events. The hospital recently concluded its clinical society conference, which focused on AI-based healthcare.
