JAMSHEDPUR — The Kendiya Sarhul Puja Samiti organised the Sarhul Mahotsav in Jamshedpur on Saturday, drawing large numbers of participants who celebrated the tribal nature festival with traditional songs, dance, and cultural performances.
A festive atmosphere prevailed across the city during the occasion. Large numbers of men and women turned out in traditional attire. They performed traditional tribal dances, showcasing their rich cultural heritage.
Various cultural programmes were organised as part of the festivities. The events offered a vivid glimpse of Adivasi culture and traditions. Traditional songs and music filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm and joy throughout the day.
Sarhul is one of the most significant festivals of the tribal community, celebrated to mark the arrival of spring and to worship nature. Participants at the event spoke about the importance of this nature worship festival. They also conveyed a message of unity and brotherhood within society.
In Ranchi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren also participated in the Sarhul Mahotsav at Sirmatoli on the same day. In Jamshedpur, MLA Saryu Roy has previously participated in Sarhul processions in the city, reflecting the festival’s broad social significance across communities.
