  • Focus on awareness of new central labor codes
  • Booklets distributed to contract workers

BOKARO – The DGMS director visited Tata Steel’s West Bokaro unit to promote awareness of new labor codes among contract workers.

Ajit Kumar, director of mines at DGMS Ranchi, inspected Quarry AB Mine on February 11, 2026. He interacted with workers at Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division.

Meanwhile, he emphasized understanding of new central labor codes. He said awareness among contract staff remains essential.

Moreover, the visit highlighted joint efforts by DGMS and Tata Steel. Both aim to inform workers about statutory rights and amendments.

He held discussions with Chief Quarry AB Raj Ankur. They addressed employees through interactive sessions.

However, officials explained practical effects of the reforms. They clarified benefits under the updated labor framework.

The provisions include guaranteed minimum wages for all workers. They also mandate a standardized pay structure.

In addition, improved medical and welfare facilities were discussed. Workers were informed about access to the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

Moreover, new guidelines on gratuity and welfare funds were detailed. These aim to strengthen long-term financial security.

Ajit Kumar stressed informed beneficiaries ensure smooth implementation. He urged workers to actively learn and claim entitlements.

Informational booklets on new provisions were distributed onsite. The outreach aimed to remove knowledge gaps.

On the other hand, the visit reflected compliance commitments at Bokaro operations. The division continues aligning with national labor reforms.

Recently, electric truck launch marked innovation at the site. Earlier, a wage revision pact strengthened worker benefits.

Meanwhile, foundation initiatives have supported community welfare. The unit also hosted a flower show this year.

Earlier, an eye care camp expanded healthcare outreach locally. These steps complement labor welfare measures at the division.
