Tata Steel Foundation Extends Eye Care Camp in West Bokaro

Organizes Extended Cataract Surgery Camp Till January 12 for Remote Areas

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Foundation has launched a new cataract surgery camp in West Bokaro’s Mandu block.

Anurag Dixit inaugurated the initiative. “We aim to restore vision to underserved communities,” a foundation official stated.

Program Impact

The foundation’s Drishti program shows significant progress. Over 763 patients received screening recently.

Meanwhile, 211 patients await surgery referrals. The camp extends its services to remote villages.

Moreover, healthcare partners strengthen the initiative. Shankar Netralaya joined the program in 2016.

Future Plans

The foundation plans additional camps. Rising demand drives service expansion.

Furthermore, comprehensive eye care remains the focus. School health programs form part of the initiative.

Community Outreach

The program addresses preventable blindness. It includes services for premature infants.

In addition, community awareness drives continue. The foundation emphasizes accessible healthcare.

The initiative has restored vision to 35,000 individuals. This achievement spans various locations over ten years.
