JAMSHEDPUR – City SP Kumar Shivashish announced deployment of 32 checkpoints across sensitive locations to prevent New Year’s Eve disturbances, with DSP-rank officers supervising operations starting Tuesday.

All police officers will report for duty. They will monitor the entire city. However, special focus will remain on sensitive areas.

The police will identify drunk drivers. Rash driving will also be checked. Moreover, those creating disturbances will face action.

Kumar Shivashish addressed the media on Tuesday. He outlined the security arrangements. In addition, he issued stern warnings to potential violators.

The City SP appealed to residents. Citizens should celebrate peacefully. Furthermore, they must avoid any unruly behavior.

Checkpoints will operate throughout the night. DSP-rank officers will ensure proper monitoring. Besides, regular patrols will cover other areas.
