Security Forces Thwart Maoist Plot in Tamar near Ranchi
IED Bomb Recovered by SSB and Jharkhand Jaguar in Tamar
An eight-kilogram IED bomb was discovered and defused in Ranchi’s Tamar area, averting a potential Maoist attack.
RANCHI – In a significant security operation, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) successfully recovered an eight-kilogram IED bomb in the Tamar area of Ranchi district, disrupting a planned Maoist sabotage.
The Jharkhand Jaguar team was promptly deployed to the location upon receiving the intelligence, where they managed to defuse the explosive device.
This action was in response to a Maoist strategy aimed at targeting security forces during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a plot that was effectively neutralized by the alertness of the security teams.
The explosive was found concealed in a pressure cooker under a culvert on the Monogora-Akarkola road within the Tamar police station’s jurisdiction.
Designed to inflict damage on the police, the bomb’s placement under the culvert was a clear attempt to compromise the safety of security personnel; however, their quick response averted the threat.
The operation was led by Deputy Commandant Anurag Singh, featuring contributions from Inspector Kapil Nagar, SSB jawans, a dog squad, and local police, exemplifying a coordinated effort to ensure public safety and maintain peace in the face of potential disruptions.
