Alcohol Worth Rs 9,360 Handed Over to Excise Department

The RPF’s vigilance during Operation Satark led to the recovery of unclaimed whiskey bottles worth Rs 9,360, later handed to the Excise Department for further action.

Ranchi – On July 1, 2024, as part of Operation Satark, officers and staff of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Ranchi recovered 18 unclaimed whiskey bottles from an abandoned bag.

The bottles, each containing 375 ml of whiskey and valued at Rs 9,360, were found during a routine inspection.

The RPF team promptly handed over the recovered alcohol to the Excise Department for further action.

Operation Satark is an ongoing initiative by the RPF to enhance security and vigilance across railway stations in India.

This operation aims to prevent illegal activities, ensure passenger safety, and maintain law and order on railway premises.

Unclaimed bags and suspicious items are regularly checked to prevent smuggling and other unlawful activities.

The RPF’s diligent efforts have led to several successful recoveries and arrests, highlighting the importance of such operations.

RPF Ranchi’s actions are part of a broader strategy to curb illegal activities and ensure the safety of passengers and railway property.

RPF sources said that the public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or unclaimed baggage to authorities immediately.
