World Polio Day Rally Held in Jameshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR – Nine Rotary clubs of Jamshedpur organized a grand polio awareness rally on November 2 to mark World Polio Day and promote universal vaccination coverage.
World Polio Day is observed annually on October 24. It highlights global efforts to eliminate polio completely. The day honors frontline workers in this mission. However, Rotary District 3250 postponed the rally due to festivals.
This year’s theme was “End Polio: Every Child, Every Vaccine, Everywhere.” The theme emphasizes that no child should miss vaccination. It underscores the importance of reaching every corner. Moreover, it reflects commitment to complete immunization coverage.
Nine Rotary clubs participated in the joint initiative. These included Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West. Rotary Club of Jamshedpur East also joined the effort. In addition, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown participated actively.
Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City was part of the march. Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Femina contributed to the event. Besides, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Dalma joined the rally. Rotary Club of Jamshedpur and Jamshedpur NextGen completed the group.
The rally started from Rotary Times Square in Bistupur. It covered approximately two kilometers through main roads. Rotarian Bachhu Master inaugurated the march. He has been associated with polio elimination since early days.
Region Director Rotarian Sharad Chandran attended the event. PDG Dr. Bharat shared his views at the occasion. Rotarian Taneja also expressed his thoughts on polio eradication. Assistant Governor Rotarian D.N. Jena addressed the gathering.
Past AG Rotarian Anjani Nidhi participated in the program. President Rotarian Ashok Jha spoke about vaccination importance. Special correspondent Rotarian Vidya Tiwari conducted interviews during the rally.
Rotaractors participated enthusiastically in large numbers. Interactors also joined the march with great energy. Their participation infused vigor into the event. The youth involvement demonstrated future commitment to health causes.
Three clubs received appreciation trophies for outstanding participation. Rotary Club of Jamshedpur was honored first. Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West received recognition second. Meanwhile, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown was awarded third.
The event raised awareness about polio elimination goals. It strengthened community responsibility towards public health. The rally demonstrated collective commitment to disease-free society. Participants pledged continued support for vaccination campaigns.
