Jamshedpur Traffic Police Deploy Body Worn Cameras

New technology aims to enhance traffic management and reduce disputes

Jamshedpur Traffic Police introduce body worn cameras to improve traffic rule enforcement and documentation of road incidents.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Traffic Police have implemented body worn cameras for officers to effectively monitor and manage traffic violations.

Traffic DySP Sanjay Kumar announced the distribution of 47 cameras to officers for use during duty hours.

The cameras, worn on shoulders, have 4.5 GB memory storage and powerful microphones for audio-video recording.

This initiative aims to deter arguments, threats, and bribery allegations against traffic police.

The cameras will continuously record road activities, ensuring documentation of any disputes or misconduct.

Jamshedpur police are also intensifying campaigns against speeding and drunk driving.

Anti-speeding vehicles and two speed guns have been deployed to monitor and fine speeding vehicles.

In June, 18 high-speed vehicle owners on NH-33 received violation notices.

The police cancelled 393 driving licenses in June as part of their drunk driving campaign.

Strict actions are being taken against minor drivers and their parents to ensure road safety.
