Chennaiyin’s commanding win started in the sixth minute when Jamshedpur’s center-back Pratik Chaudhari’s defensive error led to an own goal.
A cross from the right flank by winger Vincy Barretto found Chaudhari, who inadvertently sent the ball into his own net, leaving goalkeeper Albino Gomes helpless.
The lead doubled in the 22nd minute with Irfan Yadav’s impressive solo effort.
Breaking past the Jamshedpur defense from his own half, Yadav’s grounded right-footer from outside the box flew into the bottom right corner, giving Chennaiyin a 2-0 advantage.
Scottish winger Connor Shields added to the lead in the 24th minute, taking a sharp left-footer to slot the ball past the diving Gomes, bringing the score to 3-0.
Early in the second half, Colombian striker Wilmar Jordan Gill made it 4-0, capitalizing on an assist from Yadav, who stole the ball from Chaudhari in the attacking third.
Gill’s well-placed lob defeated Gomes as it landed in the bottom right corner of the net.
