JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Zoological Park’s Wildlife Week celebrations featured an inter-school debate competition, crowning Suhani from NML Kerala Public School as the winner.
The event, held on the second day of Wildlife Week 2024, included both Hindi and English debates.
Moreover, students debated the topic "Environment vs. Development" in their respective languages.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mahato, Curator of Tata Zoo, and Mohammad Nayeem presented the prizes.
Furthermore, a total of 19 students from six different schools participated in the competition.
Atul Kumar Singh from Motilal Nehru Public School secured the second position.
Meanwhile, Shristy Kumari from Kerala Public School Kadma clinched the third spot.
Additionally, consolation prizes were awarded to Rishabh Mukherjee and Unnati.
The competition highlighted the importance of environmental awareness among students.
On the other hand, it also provided a platform for young voices to express their views on crucial issues.
The Wildlife Week celebrations will continue with more events in the coming days.
An on-the-spot essay writing competition is scheduled for October 4th, 2024.
In addition, a fancy dress competition will take place on October 5th at the Zoo Main lawn.
The week will conclude with an on-the-spot painting competition on October 6th, 2024.
These events aim to further engage students in wildlife conservation awareness.
The closing ceremony will also be held on October 6th at the Zoo Main lawn.
Through these activities, Tata Steel Zoological Park continues to promote environmental education.
