JAMSHEDPUR – As the city prepares for Diwali celebrations, residents of Mango under Jamshedpur West constituency are facing severe water supply problems. Continuous irregular water distribution has left large sections of the population distressed for several days.
Upon receiving complaints, Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy visited the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) office to assess the situation. He held discussions with departmental officials and reviewed the supply system in the affected areas.
Roy alleged that the water distribution was being carried out unfairly. “It seems that under a deliberate plan, uninterrupted water is being supplied to a particular community, while Hindu families are struggling even on festive days,” he said, expressing concern over the issue.
The MLA demanded that PHED officials ensure immediate and regular water supply across all localities without discrimination. He also reprimanded officials over the phone for negligence in addressing the crisis.
Residents of Mango have appealed to the administration to restore normal water supply before Diwali, fearing further inconvenience during the festival.
