Postal Ballot Voting Begins for Ghatshila By-Poll
117 Voters Cast Ballots in Two Days at Women’s University Center

JAMSHEDPUR – Postal ballot voting commenced for the Ghatshila Assembly by-election with 117 voters exercising their franchise in the first two days at the facilitation center.
Government employees assigned to election duties started voting on October 30. The facility is located at the Women’s University premises. On the first day, 56 voters cast their ballots. The second day saw 61 people participating in the process.
The voting window operates from 9 AM to 5 PM. Election staff, police personnel, and home guards are voting currently. Essential service workers are also using this facility. Moreover, various other categories of voters on election duty participate.
Officials from the ballot office provided the detailed schedule. Government officials and employees will vote from October 30-31. They will also cast ballots on November 3-4. The process continues from November 6-8 for this group.
Drivers, conductors, and videographers follow the same timeline. Meanwhile, essential service providers vote from November 5-11. Election officials deputed to Ghatshila’s ballot office vote from November 8-10.
Home voting arrangements have been made for specific voters. Senior citizens aged 85 and above are eligible. Additionally, voters with at least 40 percent disability qualify.
The first phase of home voting runs from November 2-7. The second phase is scheduled for November 9-10. Election staff will visit voters’ residences directly. They will facilitate the postal ballot voting process there.
“Home voting ensures no eligible voter is left behind,” said a local election official. The arrangement aims to maximize voter participation. Separate teams have been deployed for this purpose.
The facilitation center maintains strict security protocols. All voting procedures follow Election Commission guidelines. Furthermore, proper documentation is maintained for each voter.
