Jharkhand Governor Awards Police Medal to Arvind Kumar for Exceptional Service
Arvind Kumar, DSP of Jamshedpur, receives President’s Police Medal and Home Minister’s Medal for distinguished service.
RANCHI – On the occasion of Republic Day, Arvind Kumar, DSP of Jamshedpur CCR, was honored with the President’s Police Medal and the Home Minister’s Exceptional Intelligence Medal.
The awards were presented by Jharkhand Governor Shri CP Radhakrishnan at a state function in Morabadi, Ranchi.
Kumar, who joined the police service as a Sub Inspector in 1989, has served in various districts including Aurangabad, Palamu, Simdega, Dhanbad, Gumla, Seraikela, and Chaibasa.
His tenure in insurgency-affected districts has been marked by several encounters with militants and effective urban crime control.
Kumar’s distinguished service has previously earned him the Chief Minister Medal for Bravery, Jharkhand Medal for Meritorious Service, and Vishisht Seva Medal.
While posted in the Special Branch of Chaibasa district, his accurate intelligence collection against Maoists led to many successful operations, earning him recognition from the Home Minister, Government of India.
