JAMSHEDPUR – The city police introduced high-speed GPS-enabled bikes for its Tango mobile unit, aiming to improve response in congested areas.
SSP Piyush Pandey handed over 33 advanced motorcycles to Tango personnel. City SP Kumar Shivashish, CCR DSP Manoj Thakur, and other officers attended the event. The SSP also briefed the team on proper use of the new bikes.
Each vehicle is fitted with modern technology, including GPS systems. Headquarters will now be able to track bike locations in real time. According to police officials, the new fleet is expected to overcome earlier problems faced by large patrol vehicles in narrow streets and crowded zones.
SSP Pandey noted that the high-speed bikes will allow timely police arrival during incidents. Moreover, they will be useful in intercepting criminals attempting to escape. He also expressed gratitude to police headquarters for supplying the vehicles.
