JAMSHEDPUR – A sensational murder case has shocked Birsanagar after the body of 31-year-old Krishna Mahato was recovered from under Hurlung Bridge on August 16. The body, with hands and feet tied, confirmed a planned killing.
Krishna, a resident of Zone 11, Road 4, was abducted on August 12 near Birsanagar Ganesh temple. His abandoned bike was later found on August 15. Following this, his brother Prakash Mahato lodged a complaint at Birsanagar police station.
Police arrested his uncle Rajesh Mahato and associate Mukesh Murmu. During interrogation, Rajesh admitted to the crime. He revealed that Krishna had been blackmailing his aunt with her pictures and videos, leading to disputes within the family. The aunt had moved to her parental home in Rajnagar two months earlier.
Investigators further stated that Krishna was also involved in making objectionable videos of other women to blackmail them. This had created resentment among relatives and locals. Suspicion deepened when his bike was found near his uncle’s house.
Initially, a missing report was filed, but later evidence confirmed abduction and murder. Both accused remain in police custody, and formal disclosures are expected soon.
