Railway Headquarters Calls for Inquiry into Employee’s Death, DRM to Report

The Railway Headquarters has initiated an investigation into the death of railway employee Satish Pillai during a land possession dispute, seeking answers from DRM AJ Rathore.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Railway Headquarters has tasked Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) AJ Rathore with investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic self-immolation of railway employee Satish Pillai during a contentious land possession case.

Investigation into the Incident

This decision has been made in response to complaints lodged by Satish Pillai and his family prior to his untimely death.

The Railway Headquarters is looking for a thorough report detailing any errors made, the preventative measures taken beforehand, and the circumstances that led to this tragic event being unable to be averted.

Role of Officials and Land Transfer Rules

The investigation will also scrutinize the roles played by officials of the Land Department of Railways and the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Questions are being raised as to why, during the surveillance operation involving Pillai’s mother and daughter, Pillai himself was not under surveillance.

The circumstances under which the campaign was initiated without a clear understanding of the situation will also be investigated.

Additionally, clarity is being sought on the rules under which the land was transferred and the status of any previous complaints lodged in this regard.

This case is currently being investigated at the DRM level, with a detailed report expected to shed light on this unfortunate incident.
