PALAMU – A shocking jewelry theft incident has been reported in Kanda, under the Nawabazar police station jurisdiction in Palamu district. Dinanath Soni, a resident of Itko village and a jeweler, lost a bag containing jewelry worth ₹5 lakh on Friday evening.

Incident Details

Dinanath Soni, who has been running a jewelry and utensils shop near Kanda bus stand for several years, had closed his shop and parked his bike near Kanda Panchayat Bhawan to purchase vegetables. The bag filled with jewelry was left hanging on his bike. While buying vegetables, he noticed the bag had disappeared.

Victim’s Account and Actions

Mr. Soni stated that the bag contained jewelry worth around ₹5 lakh. Despite his immediate efforts to locate the bag, the thieves managed to escape without leaving any clue. Distressed by the incident, he filed a written complaint at the Nawabazar police station on Saturday against unknown culprits.

Police Investigation Underway

Local police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Authorities assured that efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the thieves involved in the crime. However, as of now, no leads have been found.
