JAMSHEDPUR – A minor dispute between neighbors in Bodam’s Andharjor village escalated into a violent altercation on January 15, leaving several injured. The clash led to two FIRs being lodged at Bodam police station, with the investigation currently underway.
Ganesh Singh, a resident of Bankada, alleged that his wife Tust Wala Singh was attacked by a group of around 10 women while visiting her sick daughter in Andharjor. Both mother and daughter sustained injuries, but while the daughter was discharged after treatment, the mother was referred to MGM Hospital due to her critical condition. Singh has filed an FIR naming several individuals, including Monika Singh, Pramila Singh, and a minor, among others.
Police Investigate Dual Allegations
In a counter-complaint, Andharjor resident Mohini Bala Singh accused Ganesh Singh, his wife, and two others of hurling abuses and initiating the attack earlier in the day. This altercation reportedly occurred between 10:30 and 11:30 AM, while the subsequent clash took place at noon.
Medical Care and Legal Steps
Victims were treated at a local nursing home before being discharged, except for Tusht Bala Singh, whose injuries required advanced care. Police are investigating both FIRs to determine the sequence of events and establish accountability. Bodam police in-charge, Manoranjan Kumar, confirmed the registration of complaints from both parties.
The incident highlights escalating tensions within the village over seemingly minor issues. Authorities are urging restraint and cooperation during the investigation.
