JAMSHEDPUR – Shatabdi Majumdar, the Dhalbhum SDO, conducted inspections of tea shops near Jubilee Park today, collecting samples for laboratory testing. This move has sparked widespread discussions across Jamshedpur.

Inspections and Sample Collection

The inspections were carried out at tea stalls around the Sakchi area near Jubilee Park. SDO Majumdar emphasized that if the tests reveal any irregularities, legal actions will be initiated against the sellers. The focus is on ensuring that beverages sold in the area adhere to safety standards.

Previous Measures Against Tobacco Products

Prior to this, authorities had banned the sale of gutka and cigarettes within 100 yards of schools, reinforcing efforts to safeguard public health. The latest inspection continues this trajectory, targeting the quality of beverages in public spaces.

Worries Among Tea Sellers

The inspections have caused a stir among local tea vendors, who fear that the investigation may expand to other areas. “We are careful about our products, but the sudden checks have made us anxious,” said one shopkeeper.
