MEDININAGAR – In a tragic incident in Chhatarpur’s Kauwal area, a 70-year-old man, Ramnandan Thakur, lost his life after being hit by a speeding bike. The accident occurred on Wednesday evening as he was crossing the road after getting off a tempo while returning home from the market.

Witness Accounts and Immediate Response

According to eyewitnesses, Thakur was struck by a bike coming from the opposite direction at high speed. The collision was so severe that he died on the spot. The bike rider fled the scene immediately after the accident, leaving behind his mobile phone, which fell on the road during the commotion.

Police Investigation Underway

Local residents informed the police about the incident and handed over the biker’s mobile phone. The police have taken possession of the deceased’s body and have moved it to the sub-divisional hospital. The post-mortem is scheduled for Thursday.

This tragic incident highlights the need for stricter measures to curb overspeeding and ensure road safety in the area.
