MEDININAGAR – The Municipal Corporation launched an extensive anti-encroachment drive on Wednesday to tackle traffic congestion in market areas.
The operation targeted multiple commercial zones. Officials removed encroachments from Panchmuhan Chowk to Bata Road.
Moreover, the drive covered Mahavir Temple Road and Ghada Patti. Several shopkeepers initially resisted the removal operations.
Widespread Violations
The civic team found numerous violations across markets. Many shops had extended displays onto drains and roads.
Furthermore, shopkeepers had installed illegal awnings and shades. The corporation used bulldozers to demolish these structures.
“We found shops conducting business on public roads,” stated Assistant Municipal Commissioner Vishwajit Mahato.
Administrative Action
Municipal Commissioner Mohammad Javed Hussain issued strict warnings. The administration aims to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Besides, officials made announcements using loudspeakers. They instructed traders to voluntarily remove encroachments.
Additionally, the drive covered Jain Temple Road. The team also cleared areas from Dabar Chowk to Badi Masjid Road.
Future Operations
The corporation has planned another drive for December 19. It will focus on Sahitya Samaj Chowk area.
“No one has the right to occupy government land,” emphasized a senior civic official.
On the other hand, traders expressed anger over the action. They complained about insufficient prior notice.
