RANCHI – Jharkhand’s Chief Minister-designate, Hemant Soren, visited Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground to review preparations for his upcoming swearing-in ceremony.
He was accompanied by his wife, Kalpana Soren, the newly elected MLA from Gandey, and Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, along with other officials.
The ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow, November 28, 2024, at the historic Morabadi Ground.
The event is expected to witness the presence of several prominent leaders from the INDIA alliance, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The INDIA alliance secured a significant victory in the recent Jharkhand Assembly elections, winning 56 out of 81 seats.
Hemant Soren, leading the alliance, is set to assume the Chief Minister’s office for the fourth time.
Kalpana Soren’s victory in the Gandey constituency has further strengthened the alliance’s position in the state.
Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, a 1988 batch IAS officer, has been instrumental in coordinating the event’s logistics.
A local resident remarked, "The preparations at Morabadi Ground reflect the significance of this event for Jharkhand’s future."
Security measures have been heightened in and around the venue to ensure a smooth and secure ceremony.
The administration has also arranged for live broadcasts to enable citizens across the state to witness the event.
