Key Points:

– Health Department’s Joint Secretary Seema Kumari inspects AYUSH hospital site

– Delay in construction noted; contractor given strict instructions for timely completion

– Inspected facilities show low patient turnout; awareness campaign suggested

MEDININAGAR – Seema Kumari Udaipuri, Joint Secretary of the Health Department and Director of AYUSH, conducted an inspection of the under-construction AYUSH hospital in Palamu on Thursday, issuing a strict warning to the contractor for delays and setting a three-month deadline for completion.

The 10-bed AYUSH hospital, located on the Civil Surgeon’s office premises, has faced construction delays, prompting the Director to reprimand the contractor.

Additionally, during her visit, Seema Kumari inspected the district’s Joint Dispensary, noting that although Ayurvedic and Homeopathic treatments are available, patient turnout remains low.

The Unani treatment wing remains closed due to a lack of staff.

In response, she directed Dr. Ramnarayan Karak, District AYUSH Medical Officer, to improve public awareness of Ayurvedic and Homeopathic services available at the dispensary.

She also inspected the recently completed Panchakarma facility, which has structural limitations due to deviations from the approved blueprint, making it unsuitable for Panchakarma treatments.

Kumari requested detailed specifications from local staff to inform the departmental secretary and take necessary corrective measures.

AYUSH DPM Dr. M.K. Mehta and several other officials were present during the inspection.
