JAMSHEDPUR – In yet another instance of negligence in the Chakradharpur rail division, two trains were found running on the same track on Tuesday, narrowly avoiding a major accident due to the alertness of the drivers.
The incident took place on the Howrah-Mumbai rail route, between Adityapur and Gamharia stations.
When the two trains ended up on the same track, chaos briefly ensued, though quick action by the drivers averted disaster by applying brakes in time.
This incident has raised serious concerns about railway operations, as it happened less than 12 hours after a previous accident where a goods train’s rear engine derailed in Chandil on Monday.
