RAMGARH – Three young sisters tragically drowned while bathing in the Damodar River in Ramgarh’s Kahuabeda area on Sunday morning.

The incident took place around 11:00 AM in Ward No. 17 of Kahuabeda, under Ramgarh police station jurisdiction.

The victims were identified as Chhaya Kumari (15), Simran Kumari (10), and Sandhya Kumari (8).

Reportedly, the girls were swept away by a strong current while bathing.

One girl began to struggle in the water, prompting the others to attempt a rescue.

Unfortunately, all three were caught in the whirlpool and drowned.

Local villagers discovered the tragedy nearly an hour later.

By then, it was too late to save the girls.

With the help of villagers, the bodies were recovered from the river.

The Ramgarh police were immediately informed of the incident.

Officers arrived at the scene to conduct necessary procedures.

Initially, preparations were made for a post-mortem examination.

However, family members requested in writing to forgo the autopsy.

The police honored this request after receiving the signed application.

This heartbreaking event has cast a pall of grief over Kahuabeda village.

The family is understandably devastated by the loss of their three daughters.
