– Protestors threaten intensified agitation until demands are met
JAMSHEDPUR – Members of the Jharkhand Bengali Upliftment Committee held a large protest rally on Tuesday, marching from Sakchi Aambagan to the district headquarters.

Protestors are demanding Bengali education, printing of Bengali books, and station names in Bengali among other rights.
They organized a one-day sit-in demonstration, insisting that the Bengali language be given its due respect in Jharkhand.
The rally was driven by concerns over the diminishing status of Bengali in the state. Protestors claim that the Jharkhand government has only provided empty assurances regarding their demands.
“Bengali-speaking residents feel increasingly neglected in the state,” said an insider familiar with the protest, echoing the frustration within the community.
Protestors vowed to intensify their agitation until their demands are fulfilled, emphasizing the urgency of preserving the Bengali language in Jharkhand.
