JAMSHEDPUR – MCom students from Karim City College toured Jamshedpur Dairy on September 10.
The visit, organized by the college’s PG Commerce Department under the guidance of Dr. Mohammad Moazzam Nazari, aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the dairy sector.
During the tour, students received a comprehensive overview of Jamshedpur Dairy, which operates under the Bihar State Milk Cooperative Federation.
They were guided through various stages of milk processing, including pasteurization, homogenization, and packaging, with an emphasis on stringent quality control measures ensuring product safety.
A significant highlight for the students was witnessing the application of modern machinery and automation techniques, crucial in maintaining efficiency and meeting the increasing demand for dairy products.
Staff members, including the marketing executive, procurement head, and testing head, elaborated on the cooperative’s role in supporting local farmers, explaining how it provides a reliable platform for milk procurement and often utilizes surplus milk production.
The tour also showcased the wide range of products processed and distributed by Jamshedpur Dairy, including milk, yogurt, cheese, and peda.
Dr. G Vijayalakshmi, Dr. Zahid Parvez, and Syed Sajid Parvez also accompanied the students, playing key roles throughout the visit.
