Samajik Seva Sangh burns effigy of Union Petroleum Minister to protest increase in petrol prices

Jamshedpur: – An effigy of Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was burnt at Rahragora Subhash Chowk by the members of Samajik Seva Sangh to protest the recent steep increase in prices of petrol, diesel and gas.

On Wednesday, slogans were raised in protest against the central government. Samajik Seva Sangh members protesting the increase in petrol prices were led by Raju Samant, the patron of Samajik Seva Sangh.

During the protest the mentor Rajesh Samant said that the middle class people are very upset due to the increase in the price of petrol and diesel.

He said that the price of all goods has gone up due to increase in diesel prices.

He said that the central government has also increased the prices of cooking gas. In rural areas, most of the people work as contract labour to run maintain their family. The burden on people has increased due to limited income, he said.

He said that people from rural areas come to the city from far and near to earn their livelihood.

But due to limited wages, it has become very troublesome to run home for them. Inflation has started touching the sky. Given this, the central government should reduce the prices of petrol, diesel and gas prices, he said.

Those who took part in the protests included Rajesh Samant, Jena Jamuda, Bhupathi Sardar, Mohan Bhagat, Vivek Gupta, Mangal Sharma, Sitaram Baske, Dharmachand Sharma, Haradhan Shahu, Chhotu Mobile, Munna Chaudhary, Mukesh Thakur, Chhote Sardar, Guddu Prasad, Dobraj Hembrom, Sarvesh and Kisan Tiu, Kissen Hembram, Hiralal, Vicky Singh as well as several other villagers.
