Students Fall Ill After Consuming Snacks at Kandra School Event
Six children hospitalized following Teachers’ Day celebration in Kandra
Half a dozen students from Narendra Nagar High School were admitted to MGM Hospital after falling ill during a Teachers’ Day event.
JAMSHEDPUR – Six children were hospitalized after consuming cake and mixture at a Teachers’ Day program in Narendra Nagar High School, Kandra.
The affected students experienced symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea shortly after eating the snacks.
Shefali Bari (14), Prahlad Kumar (14), Anisha (13), Khushi Mahato (11), Surabhi Kumari (12), and Purabi Kumari Singh were among those who fell ill.
Initially, the school management rushed the children to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of their condition, the students were subsequently transferred to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur.
"All the children are now out of danger and receiving proper medical care," a hospital spokesperson reported.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the illness.
Samples of the cake and mixture served at the event have been collected for analysis.
The school administration is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
Parents of the affected children have been notified and are being kept informed about their children’s condition.
Health officials are urging other students who attended the event to report any unusual symptoms promptly.
