Coronavirus in Jharkhand on Thursday: 8 deaths, 549 new cases, 6,122 active cases

Ranchi: Coronavirus has claimed 8 more lives in Jharkhand on Thursday. With this, the total number of deaths caused by the virus in Jharkhand has reached 859.

According to official data, 549 new coronavirus infection cases were detected in the state on Thursday. With this, the total number of infections in the state has reached 98,619 and may soon cross the 1 lakh mark.

Till Thursday, a total of 30,19,158 samples have been tested in the state. Out of these, 98,619 samples have tested positive, while, 91,629 out of these have already been cured and discharged from different hospitals of the state as well as home quarantine system.

For now, the total number of active cases of coronavirus infection in the state is 6,122, while 859 persons have succumbed to the virus.

On Thursday itself, 549 new cases were detected, while 625 were cured and discharged. 8 persons have reportedly died due to the virus.

East Singhbhum remains the worst-affected district of the state. However, on Thursday, East Singhbhum did not report any deaths as the virus seems to be on a retreat in the district.
