Heavy Rainfall Forecast for Jharkhand in Coming Days
IMD predicts significant precipitation across state due to low-pressure systems
Jharkhand braces for heavy rainfall as IMD forecasts significant precipitation across various parts of the state in the coming days.
RANCHI – Persistent low-pressure systems are expected to generate substantial rainfall in Jharkhand, according to the Ranchi Meteorological Centre of the Indian Meteorological Department.
The weather patterns of Jharkhand are still being influenced by a well-defined low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal.
This system is anticipated to move west-northwestward, impacting Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and the adjacent north of Odisha within the next 24 hours.
The monsoon trough is observed to extend from Jaisalmer, through East Rajasthan, Guna, Sidhi, and Daltonganj, to the low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal.
Heavy rainfall is expected in northeastern Jharkhand today as a result of the persistent low-pressure system.
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in the southeastern regions of Jharkhand on August 28.
Around August 29, it is anticipated that a new low-pressure area will develop over the east-central and adjacent north Bay of Bengal.
This new system has the potential to further improve rainfall activities in Jharkhand and the adjacent regions.
"Residents and authorities are advised to stay vigilant and prepared for the adverse weather conditions," a government representative said.
Disruptions in transportation and potential flooding in low-lying areas may result from the anticipated heavy rainfall.
It is recommended that local agencies and disaster management teams attentively monitor weather updates.
Farmers who cultivate crops that are fragile to water should implement measures to protect their harvests.
It is recommended that travelers verify the weather conditions prior to commencing their journeys and refrain from unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.
