Elderly pair alleges harassment, false dowry case by son’s wife
Geeta Devi and Suresh Kumar Singh appeal to SSP for safety amid escalating family dispute and threats.
JAMSHEDPUR – An elderly couple from 10 Number Basti on Padma Road has approached the SSP office, seeking protection from their daughter-in-law’s alleged threats and harassment.
Geeta Devi and Suresh Kumar Singh visited the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office on Monday with a plea for protection.
The couple accused their daughter-in-law, R Singh, of making death threats and filing a false dowry harassment case against them.
In their memorandum to the SSP, Geeta Devi detailed a previous dowry harassment case filed by Ruchi on June 19 at Sidhgora Police Station.
The case implicated Geeta, her husband Suresh, their son Rahul, and Rahul’s brother Rohit.
Despite obtaining anticipatory bail, the couple claims the situation has worsened.
Geeta alleged that R Singh forcibly entered their home and threatened them.
The couple also accused R Singh of conspiring to implicate them in another false case.
According to Geeta, R Singh had previously attacked their son Rahul, creating an atmosphere of fear within the family.
The elderly pair requested immediate protection for their lives and property.
They stated their intention to remain at the SSP office until their safety was ensured.
