Tata Steel Hosts Interschool Swimming Championship
230 students compete; JPS Baridih, Loyola School clinch top honors
Tata Steel’s Sports Department organized an Interschool Swimming Championship to mark National Sports Day.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel celebrated National Sports Day by hosting an Interschool Swimming Championship, drawing participation from 230 students across the city.
The event was held on August 24, showcasing the swimming talents of various schools in Jamshedpur.
Hormaze B. Todiwala, Head of Employee Services at Tata Steel, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Other notable guests included Ram Balak Singh, L. Nageshwar Rao, Hassan Imam, and Satish Kumar Singh.
These dignitaries were present to motivate and encourage the young participants.
In the boys’ category, J.P.S Baridih emerged as the overall champion with 28 points.
D.A.V Bistupur secured the runners-up position in the boys’ category with 22 points.
Loyola School Jamshedpur dominated the girls’ category, clinching the top spot with 30 points.
Carmel Junior College closely followed, finishing as runners-up in the girls’ category with 25 points.
The championship highlighted the importance of sports in students’ holistic development.
The event successfully fostered a spirit of healthy competition among the youth of Jamshedpur.
This initiative by Tata Steel’s Sports Department showcased their commitment to promoting sports at the grassroots level.
