Tata Motors Jamshedpur Plant Declares Block Closure on August 19

Employees to receive 50% pay during the block closure on Raksha Bandhan.

Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant will close on August 19, with workers getting only 50% of their wages for the day.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant will observe a block closure on August 19, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan.

A circular issued by Plant Head Ravindra Kulkarni stated that employees will receive only 50% of their regular wages during the closure.

The announcement follows the weekly holiday on Sunday, resulting in two consecutive non-working days.

Frequent block closures are causing financial losses for employees and affecting ancillary companies.

This step is reportedly due to declining vehicle demand, a common issue in the monsoon season.

The impact is also being felt in the Adityapur industrial area, where workers are facing reduced income.

Concerns are growing about the broader economic impact on local businesses.

The closures highlight ongoing challenges in the automotive industry, particularly during periods of low demand.

Local workers and companies are urging for solutions to mitigate these losses.
