PM Modi Launches Rs 83,700 Crore Tribal Development Projects in Jharkhand

HAZARIBAGH – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated a comprehensive tribal development program, unveiling projects worth over Rs 83,700 crore in Jharkhand.
The ‘Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan’ was introduced at Vinoba Bhave University in Hazaribagh.
This ambitious scheme targets the holistic progress of tribal communities nationwide.
With a budget of Rs 79,150 crore, it aims to assist over five crore tribal citizens.
The program encompasses 65,000 tribal-dominated villages across 549 districts in 30 states and union territories.
"These initiatives are tailored for tribal upliftment," Modi stated during the launch event.
He emphasized the significance of introducing these projects from Birsa Munda’s homeland.
The scheme addresses critical gaps in various sectors through 25 interventions.
Seventeen central ministries and departments are spearheading these efforts.
Modi also inaugurated projects under the "PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan" (PM-JANMAN).
These initiatives, valued at over Rs 1,360 crore, focus on enhancing infrastructure and services.
Road connectivity improvements and construction of essential facilities are key components.
The Prime Minister announced the electrification of 75,800 households of particularly vulnerable tribal groups.
This effort spans approximately 3,000 villages across the country.
Other initiatives include mobile medical units and drinking water provision in tribal areas.
A local tribal leader remarked, "These projects will bring transformative changes to our communities."
The event witnessed the presence of Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar and several Union Ministers.
Modi highlighted the symbolic importance of launching these initiatives from Hazaribagh’s Vinoba Bhave University.
He noted that the first anniversary of PM-JANMAN would coincide with Tribal Pride Day on November 15.
The comprehensive approach aims to ensure sustainable development and empowerment of tribal populations.
