Lawyers Discuss Urgent Need for Bar Association Elections in Jamshedpur
Meeting chaired by Advocate Kumar Rajesh Ranjan emphasizes the urgency of holding the long-pending District Bar Association elections in Jamshedpur.
A meeting organized by Lawyers Defense was held on Saturday at the Old Court Chamber building in Jamshedpur, where advocates discussed the urgent need to conduct the District Bar Association elections, which have been pending for eight months.
JAMSHEDPUR – Advocates in Jamshedpur gathered on Saturday at the Old Court Chamber building for a meeting organized by Lawyers Defense, with the primary agenda being the long-overdue District Bar Association elections.
The meeting was chaired by Advocate Kumar Rajesh Ranjan, and Advocate Paramjit Srivastava conducted the proceedings.
The advocates expressed concern over the delay in the bar elections, which has stalled various welfare and development activities for the legal community.
Advocate Akshay Kumar Jha suggested that the lawyers collectively meet with the election officials to expedite the process.
Advocate Amit Kumar highlighted that from 2004 to 2024, no comprehensive development, including health insurance, has been carried out for the lawyers in the new bar building.
Advocate Vivek Kumar pointed out that the lawyers do not benefit from the sale of affidavits and other documents through vendors in both the new and old court premises.
He stressed the need for a new committee to ensure that all documents are issued through the Bar Association office.
Advocate Vinod Kumar Mishra supported the sentiments of his colleagues, emphasizing the importance of conducting the elections as soon as possible.
The meeting saw the participation of several advocates, including Keshav Kumar Singh, Ravindra Dubey, Ravindra Kumar, Neeraj Kumar, Virendra Prasad, Amit Kumar, Dilip Singh, Rajkumar Das, Bhajo Hari Mahto, Mithilesh Kumar, Mithilesh Singh, Pawan Kumar, Sushil Kumar Sharma, and Poonam Kumari.
Advocate Naveen Prakash participated virtually, and it was unanimously decided to submit a memorandum to the new Governor, stressing the need for the Advocate Protection Act.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Advocate Vivek Kumar, followed by the national anthem.
