JAMSHEDPUR – A sudden fire at a stock yard near Pardih Chowk in Azad Nagar created panic on Wednesday when a Ford Figo car burst into flames.
The incident occurred while the car’s battery was being replaced. As the vehicle was started, it caught fire, and thick black smoke quickly spread across the area. Residents gathered at the site and informed Azad Nagar police and the fire department.
According to DSE Sikandar Khan, the fire spread rapidly and could have reached other parked cars. However, timely intervention prevented further damage. Fire brigade teams arrived swiftly and, after much effort, extinguished the flames.
Local witnesses said dense smoke made breathing difficult and created chaos in the area. Police personnel and firefighters managed to bring the situation under control.
No casualties were reported, but the car was completely destroyed. Police have begun investigating the cause of the blaze.
