Jamshedpur to Welcome New Tourism Information Centre
Jharkhand Government Revitalizes Iron City’s Tourism Sector
State’s tourism initiative aims to boost visitor experiences and promote local attractions through public-private partnerships.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand Tourism Department is set to open a Tourism Information Centre in Jamshedpur, marking a significant step in revitalizing the city’s tourism sector.
This development is part of a broader strategy by the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation to enhance tourist destinations across the state using a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Private agencies will be tasked with renovating, operating, and maintaining identified tourist spots before returning them to the department, leveraging private sector expertise.
The new Tourism Information Centre will serve as a centralized hub for information about major attractions in Jamshedpur and surrounding areas.
This initiative revives tourism services in the city following the closure of a similar centre in Bistupur years ago due to governmental neglect.
The first phase of the project also includes developing a tourist destination in Baharagora, expanding the scope of tourism development in the region.
The Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation’s director has initiated communication with the district’s Deputy Commissioner regarding these plans.
If plans proceed as expected, both the Tourism Information Centre in Jamshedpur and the Baharagora development project could commence within two to three months.
This move is expected to significantly boost local tourism, improve visitor experiences, and contribute to the economic growth of the region.
The initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to harnessing Jamshedpur’s potential as a key tourist destination in Jharkhand.
