Om Prakash, a 54-year-old employee of Tata Steel UISL, committed suicide by hanging himself in his office on Wednesday.

JAMSHEDPUR – Om Prakash, a 54-year-old employee at Tata Steel UISL, hanged himself in his office on Wednesday.

He was found in the Public Utility Service office in Golmuri.

It is learnt that a suicide note found in his pocket cited excessive work pressure as the reason for his extreme step.

Before hanging himself, Om Prakash sent other employees out of the office on some pretext.

The president of Tata Steel UISL’s Jusco Shramik Union arrived at the scene upon receiving the information.

Om Prakash was a resident of the Gadhabasa area in Golmuri.

The police arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.

The police have initiated further investigation into the case.
