JAMSHEDPUR – Eighth edition of Youth Parliament (2024-25) concludes successfully at DAV Public School, Bistupur.

The DAV Public School Bistupur hosted the eighth edition of its Youth Parliament on August 6, 2024.

The event emphasized experiential learning for the holistic development of students.

It aimed to simplify the workings of the Indian Parliament and the United Nations General Assembly for students of classes five to eight.

A total of 78 students represented the ruling party and opposition leaders in the Youth Parliament, discussing the topic of "Electoral Bonds."

The opposition opposed the electoral bonds, arguing that they promote opacity and undermine the idea of a free and fair democracy.

According to the opposition, the ruling party, BJP, allegedly used electoral bonds to benefit certain companies, while the ruling party maintained that they promote transparency.

Meanwhile, 59 students participated as representatives of 59 countries in the United Nations General Assembly simulation.

The discussion focused on "Neo-Colonialism," with representatives sharing their perspectives on the issue.

The assembly concluded with a consensus that neo-colonialism is a form of dominance for some countries and a challenge for others.

At the end of the program, the school principal encouraged the participants and awarded them certificates of appreciation.

The principal inspired the students and wished them a bright future, stating, "This platform provides a golden opportunity to express views on burning international issues."

She also urged students to apply the lessons learned from the program in their real lives.
