Jamshedpur Hosts CISCE Zonal Carrom Championship
249 players from 22 schools to compete at RMS High School
Two-day tournament aims to select regional team for CISCE championships, showcasing local talent in carrom.
JAMSHEDPUR – At RMS High School Balichela, a significant carrom competition that will unite young players from all across the city is about to start.
At RMS High School Balichela in Sonari, the CISCE Zonal Carrom Competition will begin on July 25.
There will be 249 competitors in this two-day event from 22 Jamshedpur CISCE schools, comprising 161 boys and 88 girls.
The principal aim of the tournament is to choose the zonal carrom squad from the city for the forthcoming CISCE Regional Championship.
At a news conference held at the school, Sanjay Kedia, the Chairman of the School Management Committee, revealed the information.
On Thursday, the inauguration event is set to begin at 8:30 a.m., and the chief guest will be District Sports Officer Avinesh Kumar Tripathi.
A group of seventeen judges, under the direction of D Gopi Rao, Secretary of the District Carrom Board Association, will supervise the competition to guarantee fair play.
Kedia told the media, "We’ve installed 15 carrom boards to facilitate smooth conduct of the matches."
The announcement of the chosen participants will take place during the closing ceremony on Friday, when the festival comes to an end.
"Our young carrom talents have a great opportunity to showcase their skills through this tournament," stated a school representative who attended the press conference.
Principal Pratima Sinha and sports instructors were among the prominent members of the RMS High School community who attended the press conference to talk about the event’s arrangements.
