Jamshedpur Police Bust Major Robbery Gang, Recover Stolen Goods
Four Arrested In Operation Targeting Liquor Shop Thieves
Special Investigation Team uncovers cache of weapons, vehicles, and stolen liquor.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Police on Wednesday busted a significant robbery gang on July 10.
They apprehended four individuals who were responsible for a string of thefts at liquor shops throughout the region.
"We intercepted the suspects near Salbani turn on NH-33 following specific intelligence," a senior police official stated.
The operation, directed by the Senior Superintendent of Police, involved multiple police stations and resulted in significant recoveries.
Key arrests and their criminal histories include:
– Mohd. Raju alias Bijay Munda (31): 3 prior cases
– Dilip Kalindi (31): 2 prior cases
– Md. Afzal (27): 3 prior cases
– Ankit Karan (21): No prior record
Three additional suspects managed to escape during the operation.
The police recovered a substantial amount of evidence, including:
– A 0.315 bore country-made pistol with live ammunition
– Multiple vehicles used in crimes
– 55 boxes of stolen foreign liquor
– Various tools used for breaking and entering
This successful operation highlights the effectiveness of the Special Investigation Team in tackling organized crime in Jamshedpur and surrounding areas.
The arrests are expected to significantly reduce robbery incidents targeting liquor shops in the region.
