Dipika Pandey Singh Orders Expedited Loan Waivers And Increased Honorariums

Minister warns against delays and directs drought contingency planning.

RANCHI – The newly sworn-in Agriculture Minister, Dipika Pandey Singh, recently held a high-level meeting with officials. During the meeting, she emphasized the importance of taking swift action on schemes that benefit farmers.

"We will not tolerate any delays in scheme implementation," Singh firmly stated to the department heads.

The minister has instructed for faster processing of proposals to waive agricultural loans up to Rs 2 lakh, which is an increase from Rs 50,000.

Soon, we will be submitting plans to increase the monthly honorarium for Farmer Friends from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000.

Singh was in charge of coordinating local events to promote departmental initiatives.

"Let’s work on bringing back Seed Villages and come up with a plan to get them up and running again," the minister said.

Authorities have issued warnings regarding the overpricing of fertilizers and the sale of counterfeit products.

The Agriculture Department has been instructed to develop comprehensive drought contingency plans in response to the lack of rainfall.

Singh advocated for the development of new LAMPS/PACS systems to replace the ones that are no longer functioning.

This meeting is an ambitious beginning to Singh’s term, with a strong emphasis on making rapid improvements in agricultural support.
