Former Health Minister Dr. Dinesh Kumar Sharangi welcomed the approval of key railway connections for tribal-dominated districts.
JAMSHEDPUR – The government has approved several crucial railway connections, including the 60 km Budhamara-Chakulia line, benefiting tribal districts in Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal.
The approved projects include the Bangariposi-Gurumahisani and Badampahar-Keonjhar railway lines.
Dr. Sharangi thanked President Droupadi Murmu, PM Narendra Modi, and other officials for the development.
The approval marks the end of a 47-year struggle that began in 1977.
The new lines will connect East Singhbhum, Baharagora, Gudabanda, Saraskona, Bangriposi, Gopiballabhpur, and Nayagram blocks.
This development is expected to reduce travel distances to key destinations by approximately 100 kilometers.
The project aims to drive economic growth and promote all-round development in the region.
Tourism in the Shimlipal Biosphere is anticipated to receive a significant boost from improved connectivity.
The railway lines will benefit the tribal-dominated districts of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar in Odisha, and East Singhbhum in Jharkhand.
This approval highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure in traditionally underserved areas.
